Dear rosarians,

On behalf of the Chinese Rose Society, I would like to extend my best regards to you and sincerely invite you to participate in the 2019 WFRS Regional Convention to be held in Nanyang, China, from April 27th to May 1st, 2019.

As is well known, China rose contributed a lot to modern roses with its unique characteristics of being recurrent-flowering. Without China rose, we would not have had diverse modern roses that we have today. China has a long history of utilizing and appreciating roses. And in China, roses means longevity, everlasting and good luck.

Nanyang is one of the most important production areas of rose plants in China as well as in the world. It plays an important role in modern rose production in China. The theme of the regional convention is “new era of roses”. It means, for roses in Nanyang, in China or even in the world, we are in the new time for roses. We are looking for new colors, new shapes, new forms, new disease-resistance and cold-hardiness of roses. We are also looking for new uses of roses. By communicating and exchanging ideas in roses, I hope that we can find the solution for the new era of roses.

I look forward to seeing you in Nanyang in April 2019.
